Jasper is in Hamilton County. Hamilton County is in the northeast quadrant of the intersection of I-75 and I-10. If you are there and drive down 129, you’ll end up, eventually, in Live Oak which is in the southwest quadrant of that interchange.

Cataleya Orchid, in fact any orchids in bloom, finish a room. If you have a house for sale, a blooming potted plant adds something to presentations. Orchids can look spectacular, require minimal watering, so they can create attention while needing little.

Somewhere just off U.S. 90, west of the Capitol in Tallahassee, in the Florida Panhandle. There is something about the colors that seemed very appealing.

Fat Belly’s in White Springs

In White Springs, Florida, fronting on U.S. 41.

U.S. 41 is known, in southeast Florida, as the Tamiami Trail. The Trail is the main thoroughfare in Miami’s Little Havana, crosses from very affluent Claughton Island (also known as Brickell Key), through the Everglades to Naples, extends north parallel to the coastline, then leans to the east before turning due north again.

There is a point north of Gainesville where the Trail connects with U.S. 441 which also begins in downtown Miami, turns west in Palm Beach County, then travels north again through Hendry County, bordering the east side of Lake Okeechobee.

All this is to say the north/south roads in Florida seldom are really north/south. Names change too, depending upon where you are. These roads meander all over the peninsula. However, if you are in White Springs, there is something about the name on the sign that seems to evoke Little Havana.

Two places so much the same in some ways, yet as different as can be.
